Learn more about why this is important below:

What is a General Power of Attorney (POA)? A General Power of Attorney (POA) is a crucial legal document that allows you to appoint someone you trust as your agent, empowering them to make financial or healthcare decisions on your behalf if you become unable to do so. Financial decisions may include business affairs, banking, tax returns, and more, while medical decisions cover medical record access, healthcare personnel employment, and consent to treatment.

Why is a Power of Attorney (POA) important? Having a valid POA is vital in unforeseen circumstances like serious illness, accidents, or advanced age when you may lose the capacity to handle financial matters or make informed healthcare decisions. By having this legal document in place, you ensure that someone you trust can step in and handle important matters on your behalf, reducing potential confusion, conflicts, and delays.

What Happens If I Don’t Have a Power of Attorney? Without a valid POA, the court may need to intervene through a legal process, potentially appointing a curator to manage your affairs. Having a properly drafted POA ensures that your wishes are respected and trusted individuals can act on your behalf when needed.

During the required webinar, we will discuss what information and documentation is required to register, and what you need to bring with you on the pickup day.
